Okay maybe that was a little misleading, but I’ve seen this heading so many times! The truth is… you can’t declutter your home in 10 minutes… and if you can, well the clutter will just come back. Decluttering your home takes a lot of work. It’s a lifestyle change… and it’s so worth it!
This is similar to seeing the “Lose 20 pounds in a week!”. It’s not going to happen, and if it does, you can be sure it’s on its way back real soon.
Losing weight and decluttering is actually kind of similar. Although we often look up the best ways to do both, it’s fairly obvious isn’t it? To lose weight… exercise more… eat better. To declutter… get rid of more… bring in less! Both easier said than done!
I certainly don’t have a model home, (and it definitely doesn’t look the way it does in the pictures everyday!) but we’re working towards it! It’s come a long way and it’s a process that will take time. Not only do you have to get rid of the things you already have, you also have to commit to bringing in less stuff (which also has the affect of spending less money, and isn’t that nice!)
